“We stopped doing our own V6 engines in the late 1990s. Since then, the company uses six-cylinder units Ford. Now everything is set small volume engines with turbo. I think technology involving the use of turbines, are noticeably better,” – said the head of department sales and marketing of the Japanese automaker Masahiro Moro. At the same time chief marketing Mazda said that the company does not plan to completely abandon the use of six-cylinder engines. “Mazda is moving in the premium area, so over time, we may need a six-cylinder engine. Still too early to talk about it, as we have a suitable model for this, but we are considering options for a V-shaped or in-line engine with so many cylinders,” – concluded Moreau.

According to a top manager at the CX- 9 is likely there is no option with the diesel engine, as the main market model – the United States, where cars with similar units are not in high demand. While Moreau added that choosing between the hybrid power plants and engines “heavy fuel”, the Japanese automaker will prefer the second option.
