Mazda Rotary Engine Come Back

February 24, 2013 at 12:02 pm

The company Mazda Motor Corp. confirmed that it is not going to give up its plans for the development and production of a new generation of rotary engine. As you know, the Japanese motorists stopped the production of the Renesis rotary engine in June 2012, but earlier this year Japan presented to us good news – as the development will continue.

One of the key employees of the engineering unit of the company in an interview with the well-known western media reported that the production of the Wankel engine will be restored over the next five years. The exact date of the return of the famous Renesis rotary engine is not yet known. Exactly like the company’s official statement on the matter.

If works on developing a new generation of the rotary engine will continue, especially in the production version, then maybe the unit with a turbocharger. Even last year, when the issue of the rotary engine was stopped, the PR-Mazda Motor Service warned that the move does not mean a complete rejection of the development of a new generation of Renesis. So hopefully we will soon see it with the new models of the company like CX-5 or with new Mazda6 or Mazda3.
