Engines for the Atenza are proposed in three options: gasoline SKYACTIV-G 2.0 and SKYACTIV-G 2.5, and diesel SKYACTIV-D 2.2. Transmission will be a 6-speed automatic, while the diesel one will be pared with 6MKPP. As Mazda assures its customers, new petrol engine will have a 30-37% better fuel consumption than the previous generation models. Atenza in all trim levels will get a firm system of start-stop (i-stop), as well as the latest capacitor regenerative braking system i-ELOOP. Mazda expects to sell around 1,000 models Atenza in Japan every month. Already, the company has collected 4,300 pre-orders for the local market.
